Remarkist/About
Who we are

About Remarkist

Remarkist Inc. is a fan technology company dedicated to building the infrastructure for a new kind of fandom: one that treats fans as partners and customers, never as products.

The company was founded by John Cabrera, a former television actor best known for playing Brian Fuller on Gilmore Girls, and a writer-producer with credits at Warner Brothers, Universal, Legendary, and the Sci-Fi Channel.

We describe ourselves as a deliberately friction-full platform. This means that anything you create at Remarkist takes effort, consumption is investment not compulsion, and community standards are enforced as they should be in a good society. This friction is not a bug, but it might feel unnatural against the current landscape of social tech. Communities at Remarkist are built slowly, deliberately, and with care.

Remarkist's ecosystem includes Folkic, our community mobile app, Masslore, our collaborative fandom knowledge base, and a shared economy built on the KRNL game token and COLR loyalty reward system. Rmrk*st Magazine is our editorial product, where fans can share long form thoughts. And, boy, do we have lots more on the way!
